Your Work Safe? What is Safe?

What classifies safe? If you classify safe as protected you are 100% wrong! Why? Because your work is not safe... and to put it bluntly... nothing truly is safe any more.

So how do you protect your work? The best ways to do it is:
1- Watermark your pictures. A watermark is text being placed on top of a picture in a soft tone, or slightly opaque.
2- Copyright your work. While there are ways around copyright laws, this will help you in with the law, and could keep the thief from stealing it.
3- Encrypt your Source Code. While a professionals can still see your code, it's the beginners and intermediates that can not... or at least have one heck of a time trying.

Even if you follow all these steps, and more, you won't be completely safe. Technology is getting cheaper and smarter so there will be another way to your work. Remember... where there is a "WILL" there is a "WAY". No one can stop the human "WILL".

Being an artist, like most people on this planet, I too want to show off my work. But I can't. Why? It's not safe. My art work will be stolen within 30 seconds... maybe faster. Even protected. Faster than a car thief.

Did you know that:
1- I steal your work, change 61% of the picture or text, it will be considered mine?
2- There is more than one way to steal a picture from a site? And the tricks are right in front of your face.

The Right Click script - the good thing about this script is disabling the right button on the mouse. The bad side is you can view the Source Code and steal it there.

Watermark - the good thing about this trick is you mark your name on the picture. The bad thing is any "paint" program can clean that up.

No Right Click and No Keyboard - the good thing about this script is disabling the right button on the mouse and the keyboard at the same time. The bad side is you can view the Source Code and steal it there.

No Text Select - the good thing about this script is you can't steal the text off the screen. The bad side is your can steal the text from the Source Code.

Encrypting Your Source Code - The good thing about this program is that you hide your Source Code from being viewed. The bad side is the "Print Screen" button on all MODERN keyboards and mix a little "paint" program and start cutting then editing what you need. Text .jpeg's are fashionable.

So please remember, the your art work is not safe and could be stolen faster than a thief can steal a car. Only put up work you really don't care about. Or throw them all up and keep a clear mind about the final outcome.
